PSA test
PSA is an abbreviation for prostate-specific antigen and is the most common form of cancer in men. In prostate cancer, the PSA level in the blood increases. Thus, it is not a 'cancerous substance' that comes from a tumor, but a protein that is naturally present in the body even in healthy men. Furthermore, men under 50 should not have a value above 3.0 µg/L. PSA is produced in so-called glandular cells in the prostate and is found in high concentration in semen. Some of the PSA produced is released into the blood. So even a healthy man has small amounts of PSA in his blood. Accuracy: 99.1%. Sensitivity: 99.2%. This product is CE marked for professional use by healthcare professionals. It is not intended or tested for home use.
Instructions for use
- Clean your finger
- Puncture the finger with the lancet (see below for more details on the lancet)
- Draw 2-3 drops of blood with the pipette.
- Drip 2 drops of blood into the well (S) of the test cassette.
- Then drip 1 drop of PSA buffer.
- Wait 5 minutes to read the result.

Lancet procedure
- Wash your hands
- Let the test cassette reach room temperature. Open the foil pouch and take out the test cassette.
- Remove the protective cap of the lancet (where an orange stick sticks out).
- Clean the fingertip with the alcohol wipe.
- Press the lancet (press with the finger on the opposite side from which the cap was extracted) against the fingertips (ring finger), after which the needle punctures the skin automatically. The tip retracts automatically and safely after use.
- Hold your hand down and massage your finger to form a drop of blood.
- Put the pipette in contact with the blood, do not squeeze the pipette. The blood migrates into the pipette via capillary forces. Draw up blood to the mark on the pipette.
- Squeeze the blood into the sample well (S) of the test cassette
ResultsPositive: Two colored (pink-purple) lines appear in both the control and test areas.
Negative: Only one colored (pink-purple) line appears in the control area.
Invalid: If there is no clear pink-purple colored band visible both in the TEST and CONTROL area, the test is invalid. It is recommended to repeat the test in this case.
StorageStore the test in the closed package either at room temperature or refrigerated (2-30°C). The test cassette is stable until the expiration date indicated on the package. The test device should remain in the sealed pouch until use. Do not freeze.
