Diabetes, Kidney function & Liver function test. Total 6 test sticks.

Diabetes test

The test is intended to be used to check glucose and ketone levels in urine samples. The test provides results through the visual comparison with a color scheme printed on the product. Each color denotes a range of concentrations of glucose and ketones. Are you peeing more than usual, maybe you feel thirsty but don't stop when you drink? The symptoms are many and often quite diffuse, yet diabetes is one of our most common public health diseases. Diabetes causes high blood sugar (glucose) levels. A simple test can help ease your worries or it can give you a reason to seek help. Contents: 2 sealed aluminum bags containing 1 test stick each and instructions for use. The diabetes test is made in Europe and is very safe. The product is CE marked as a self-test.

Kidney function test
The test checks Creatinine, Protein and Specific Gravity in urine samples as an aid in the diagnosis of kidney disease. The test provides results by visual comparison with a color chart printed on the package. Contents: 2 sealed aluminum bags containing 1 test stick each and instructions for use. The test is made in Europe and is very safe. The product is CE marked as a self-test.

Creatinine
Creatinine is a chemical waste product in the blood that passes through the kidneys which filter and eliminate creatinine in the urine. This chemical waste is a by-product of normal muscle function. The more muscle a person has, the more creatinine they produce. The levels of creatinine in the blood reflect both the amount of muscle a person has and their kidney function. Women tend to have lower creatinine levels than men because on average women have less muscle than men.

Protein
Normally, your urine should contain virtually no protein. If you have protein in your urine, there may be a problem with the filtering ability of your kidneys.

Specific gravity
The kidneys remove unwanted substances from the body such as toxins and metabolic waste products. The role of the kidneys is to remove these substances via the urine without losing too much fluid. The concentration of the excreted molecules determines the specific gravity of the urine. Adults generally have a specific gravity of around 1 000 to 1030. Increases in specific gravity, i.e. increased concentration of solutes in the urine, may be associated with kidney failure or reduced blood flow to the kidneys.

Liver function test
The test is used to check bilirubin and urobilinogen in urine samples as an aid in the diagnosis of liver and gallbladder problems. The test provides results through the visual comparison with a color chart printed on the package. The test is made in Europe and is very safe. The product is CE marked as a self-test.

An elevated Bilirubin value - what does it mean?
An elevated value can have a number of different causes. It is often associated with liver disease, e.g. due to prolonged high alcohol intake or infection of the liver tissue.

How the self-tests work
Open the foil packet and take out the test strip.
Urinate in a cup/beaker and dip the test strip.
Read the answer after about 1 minute. Read the results by comparing the colors of the reaction on the strip to those in the chart. During comparison, keep the strip in a horizontal position to avoid possible mixing of colors between the two reaction areas on the strip.
